The Truth About Positive Thinking

Over the years I have heard many people say ” I tried positive thinking and it didn’t work”.

The truth about positive thinking is that most people look to it as a way to escape their lives. They mistakenly believe that if they think positive thoughts then this will some how magically lead directly to positive results.

The truth is positive thinking is good for you , however if you don’t look at a positive thought as a springboard for positive action, then nothing will change in your life.

What some people believe:   Positive Thought = Positive Results

What actually happens:   Positive Thought = Positive Action = Positive Outcome

Its only when we become responsible for the positive thought that it actually makes any difference.  Positive thinking without positive action is really only ‘wishful thinking“. End result’ frustration and anxiety’.

How To Turn Positive Thought Into Positive Action

1.First give yourself permission to think your positive thought. Allow your imagination to fully visualize the positive change you are after.

2. Use these positive thoughts as a springboard to take action. Plan each exact action you will take and keep it simple and specific. eg. today I will do this…….tomorrow I will do that…………………the day after I will do that. Plan several weeks or months ahead if that is what it takes for you to actually believe it can be done.

3. Understand that any repeated action becomes a habit and its the new habit that gives power to the positive thought.

4. Over time your new habits will establish a clear path to your positive thoughts and before long you will look back with amazement!.
